Bill: Mordusian Children Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Freedom Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 5150

Description[?]:

This act has three clauses to improve the welfare and freedom of our children to grow and choose their lives ahead of them;

CLAUSE I: The government shall maintain a system of free publically owned nurseries alongside unregulated private establishments. It is heavily important that our children all have access to high-quality and affordable childcare, and no parent should have to choose between a pay check and their child being raised properly. However, it is important to also provide choice to our parents. This is why both public and private nurseries shall be allowed to operate, to allow competition in the market and choice for our parents.

CLAUSE II: There shall be a National Curriculum which all schools are obliged to follow. By allowing exemptions to non-government schools, Mordusia is downplaying the importance of a curriculum that teaches the basics and prepares a child for their future. It also decreases the quality of the education in several schools, which are only partially required to follow the national curriculum. It is important that Mordusia maintains consistency in its educational curriculum.

CLAUSE III: Children shall not made to sing the national anthem, but shall be required to show respect when it is played at the commencement of school each day. Respect to a nation and its history and traditions is an important aspect to teach our children. However, specifically forcing all students to sing the national anthem, regardless of their beliefs or ability to do so, the DFP views as unnecessary. Therefore, respect must be offered, but singing for the national anthem in our schools should not be a requirement.

MessageMr Speaker,

we agree with Articles 1 and 3, these are a good proposals. Article 2 is a no go because it would affect religious amd church-led schools and we do not want that to happen.
