Various newspapers and medias described the results as a "Red Wave" and a slap in the face for the Prime Minister Tom Thornberry.

The opposition coalition that was formed against the Thornberry II Cabinet managed to secure three duchies and elect two Minister-President from the Alliance Party. In Shipleyriding, however, the coalition made large losses, with the ruling CSCU collapsing under 5% of the votes.

The far-right Alliance for the Fatherland made large losses in these elections. The coalition lost three of the four duchies it held and made disastrous results everywhere except in Shipleyriding.

The Luthorian Labour also made a breakthrough in these elections, gaining a majority in Orange with a third of the votes cast. The party had previously won the duchy 10 years earlier.
