While the Alliance wishes for the media to remain in the hands of the people it fears that the government may also use these institutions for propaganda purposes. Therefore, we wish to propose the establishment of indepedent non-profit media institutions as a remedy for the problem. |

Message | Such institutions could still be leaned on by the government to report as the government desires, using the subsidies as a stcik to beat them with. We shall suppport this bill, but advocate the privitisation of all media forms at the earliest viable point. |
