Voting deadline: October 5197

Description[?]:

We hereby submit, for the electors' consideration, the following set of political principles and proposals as the foundation of our policy in government:

I. In the realm of public finance, the strictest economy; abolition of unnecessary offices, redundant programs, and superfluous spending; concentration of taxpayer funds to the limited, proper functions of central government; sale of excessive public holdings to the private sector.

II. Reduction of the burden of taxation by means of reduced sales tax rates and reformed local taxation; resolute rejection of income taxes on either individuals or businesses, and of taxes on capital gains or profits; employment of a simple, transparent, and impartial tax code.

III. Free trade, with as few restrictions on the flow of capital, services and manufactured goods as possible, either domestically or in intercourse with foreign nations.

IV. Freedom of speech, religion, and conscience; no discrimination of minorities, nor any special favours for whatever creed.

V. Freedom of education, with full guarantee of school choice for parents.

VI. Respect for the home and protection of private property; strong disposition against the use of eminent domain, with full right of compensation through the courts.

VII. Due process of law in all criminal and civil cases, with courts independent of the government.

IX. Full support of the rights of local government to manage the bulk of community affairs, such as are not possible to leave to private initiative.

X. Constant preference for the provision of services through the private sector, rather than through government; faith in, and insistence upon, the capacity of free individuals to provide for themselves and produce whatever they have occasion for.
