Description[?]:
"Education is everything, it defines the mind of our future, the children. That's why I believe that it should be tightly controlled, we cannot go easy on what can be the difference between a market full of capable and questioning minds and the damnation of our society. First of all, we will forbid homeschooling, a child's place is in school, an ambient where they can develop social skills and learn about different world-views, leading to a more tolerant society, which is best for all of us. On the matter of private schools, we believe that they are important and seek to incentivize them, that is why my party voted for the passing of SPE-33, which made it possible for local governments to invest in private schools if they find it fitting to do so. However, we don't think that they should be out of the government's control, that's why this bill also proposes a more strict regularization of their curriculum." Silvester Fiorino, Minister of Education and Culture and Secretary of the SDT |

Message | We disagree with the level of governmental interference that our colleagues from the SDT want to impose on educating our students. This allows the government to act as the sole provider of "knowledge" in the country, which is antithetical to freedom of expression, information, and culture. We urge other parties to disagree with this until changes are made. |
Date | 21:40:48, October 21, 2022 CET | From | Partido Liberal (PL) | To | Debating the SDT-02 | Regularization of Education Act |
Message | We agree with Article 1, but as stated previously, the partial exemption non-government schools get can be applied to make specialty school. We also believe that the private system can be a good competitor to the public one. We would like to keep the law as it is, and add additional legislation covering tuition for private school. (With a maximum cap not exceeding the cost that it takes the state to enroll a student in a public school). |
