Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 5222
Description[?]:
Invasive species are a serious threat to our fragile ecosystems. When kept as pet by our citizens, exotic animals often escape and invade our native ecosystems, sometimes by mistake and sometimes because they become too big and/or require too much attention. For this reason we want to forbid the ownership of such species, exceptions being made for univerities, zoologic and research facilities which can obtain the permission to keep these alien plants or animals. This law won't be retroactive, therefore current owners of exotic animals or plants can still keep their pets, but from now on (if the law passes) it is going to be illegal to import, breed, sell or release in the wild these species for individuals as well as for private firms Thank you, Colel Cab Visari, Ashita's secretary of the caucus on Environment, Biodiversity and Indigenous Affairs |
