This act calls for a change for defendant's rights by asking of an amendment to our laws. This act proposes that a defendant with low income should be provided funded representation becuase they cannot afford one. It is absolutely ludacris how we could be the only nation who's states do not fund low income defendants in the criminal justice system in the entire world. Every other nation funds they're defendants somehow. |

Message | Once again this is a further waste of taxpauers money. Why should law-abiding citizens have to foot the legal bills for criminals? Maybe they should not have committed the crime if they could not afford to pay for their legal costs... |

Message | The fact is, thsi nation is a democracy. Therefore, its justice system should rely onthe motto "innocent until proven guilty". There is no telling whether the man had committed the crime until after the courts have reached their verdicts. An innocent man deserves representation when being accused. If this is a real democracy, every man is innocent until proven guilty, PNP. That means every man deserves representation, EVEN if he cant afford one. |

Message | The MInP supports the legal rights of all citizens, not just those who are wealthy. With the current system, any rich man can plant evidence of a crime on a poor man, and the poor one will have little to no chance of being found innocent, and thus would have to serve the sentence for the rich man's crimes. This is not justice. While the MInP supports tough sentences on criminals, they must be applied to those who actually committed the crimes. The MInP will be voting yes. |
