Description[?]:

Prime Minister Maguire has announced his decision to step down as Prime Minister and as leader of the Imperial Conservative Union, a post he would normally hold for only a few months, but victory in the last parliamentary election meant that the leadership of the Imperial Conservative Union, decided that Sir John Maguire would become Prime Minister and leader of the ICU, this term was done under the basis of tensions between members of the cabinet, and the leadership of the ICU with Maguire, which has hampered the work of the government, after these legislative elections, Maguire had already announced his intention to resign from his post, wanting to avoid that the ICU be hit badly for his legacy. During his resignation speech, he announced that:

My work as Prime Minister has been strewn with pitfalls, failures and successes, my government has tried to put in place the program for which, very surprisingly, we were elected. I thank my staff for accompanying me until the end of this government, I am sad not to have been able to complete my mandate to the end, but I am delighted to have been able to set up part of my program. This departure from 10 Crown Street also tells me something, I must announce that I have been diagnosed with lung cancer. I will fight as always during my political career, with strength and will. My political career is now over, with this government having made me proud, today my successor will become the new Prime Minister of this great nation and whoever comes after me, I hope he will not destroy my work and that of this administration. Thank you, good luck to my successor and God Save Luthori.

The next elections to elect the new leader of the Imperial Conservative Union will take place during the month of March this year, already, several candidates have managed to stand out, George Marshall, former retired soldier, rather considered a reactionary, close to the Idealist community, William Humphrey, an economist, who is looking for a way to restore the competitiveness of the Lutheran economy, who makes an alliance with the Minister-President of the Duchy of Shipleyriding, Mark Lang, close to the Technocrats, and the Home Secretary, Lord Abraham Garner, close to members of the opportunist faction, rather considered a liberal-conservative, wanting to reform his party to be more acceptable to the establishment.

The Imperial Conservative Union is a party that seeks after the general elections that took place during this month, the party composing the government lost about 20 seats, going from 101 seats during the last legislature to 83 during this legislature. The party is looking for a new wind, to be able to rebound in the next elections, so Maguire's resignation is seen as unfortunate, but good, in the interest of the party.

Imperial Conservative Union-Blue Coalition Government?

After the general election it was seen by scholars that the ICU and the Blue Coalition together have enough seats to form a government with the support of another political party in the House of Commons, the two blocs together have 149 seats, but it is likely that another party could agree to the formation of a right-wing cabinet. But the ICU and the LCP are traditional enemies, especially during the leadership of Kimberly Bush and John Maguire, when both parties insulted each other by name, now that Maguire has left office and it is likely that Bush does the same, could we see a rapprochement between the LCP and the ICU to make the interests of conservatism and liberalism triumph in Luthori? Thing to be seen, but the probability of the formation of this government comes down to looking at the change of leadership within the two parties.

Movement for Luthori, big winner of these elections

The big winner of these elections was the alliance called Movement for Luthori (MfL), made up of several parties, Luthorian Labour, List Hunperdinck and the Democratic Movement Party. These three parties are considered to be centrist and had great difficulty integrating into the normally right-wing dominated Luthori political landscape after their victory, they are said to be very close to forming a government with the LSP and PCP, two parties which were harshly criticized by the alliance, during the time of its opposition, the formation of the government and these members are hidden from the public, but it is said that the LH would obtain the post of Prime Minister.

Prime Minister's Resignation Honours.

As Maguire resigned, he must give his recommendation to the King-Emperor, he decided to advise the Emperor to give titles to several political personalities coming from several political parties of Luthori, here is the non-exhaustive list:

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action.
