MessageNorbert Schmidt, Party President of the FVP:

The proposed bans on the use of landmines by our army is a dangerous move. Landmines are an important tool for protecting our borders and our citizens from potential threats. Prohibiting their use will significantly reduce our ability to defend ourselves against foreign threats and may put the lives of our soldiers and citizens at risk.

Similarly, the proposed ban on the development and storage of nuclear weaponry for military purposes will severely weaken our nation's defense capabilities. We live in a world where nuclear weapons exist and where other nations possess them. It is crucial that we maintain the ability to defend ourselves and deter potential aggressors. The proposed changes will leave us vulnerable and weaken our ability to protect our citizens.

Furthermore, the proposed changes to our military policy, shifting from a full-time professional army to a part-time reserve group, will significantly reduce our military readiness and ability to respond to threats quickly and effectively. Our current military policy has served us well in the past, and we should not weaken our defense capabilities by changing it.

These proposed changes to our nation's military and defense policies will significantly weaken our ability to protect our nation and our citizens. I hope everyone agrees.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
