Message | Statement from Isabelle Friedberg, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Federal Republic of Dundorf: Dear Colleagues, today I am proposing to the Bundestag the ratification of the "Intelligence Pact", an international alliance of intelligence agencies of which some of our most important allies and partners are already members, namely Kundrati and Beiteynu. Our presence in this international pact will allow our own internal security services to grow, and to strenghten their ability to keep Dundorf secure. The ratification of this treaty alone is not enough, as we would be considered under level 3, leaving some of our sovereignty behind. If you want to pursue the effort for a stronger security, better relationships in the world, and our sovereignty to be strong, I recommend ratifying also the other two treaties: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=685865 and http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=685866. OOC: debate for all three treaties should be conducted here |

Message | NDZP Assistant Floor Leader Kenny Grunwald Our single disagreement with our the longtime Socialist regime on national security is our ongoing opposition to becoming a very subordinate part of the Beiteynuese covert operations agency, the Terran Remediation Agency. Why would we want their special ops people operating in the Bundesrepublik? We favor intelligence sharing and economic cooperation with Beiteynu and other nations which we have with existing treaties but the Intelligence Pact and Addendum to it make us part of their covert operations. I have explained this in detail elsewhere and will not try to do so again. I believe if you actually read these two treaties (which are very lengthy and copied from other international spy agencies) you will not want to be part of them. Since this bill will probably pass I will just say the government is making an absolutely unnecessary mistake. |

Message | Isabelle Friedberg: To suggest that the Foreign Minister does not read the treaties she proposes is rather unkind Ms. Grunwald, the Foreign Ministry perfectly knows that there is some sort of sovereignty cession here, we never denied it. We thought it was implicit since it often happens in these types of co-operations. Please don't get me wrong; I welcome your point here, Ms. Grunwald, and let me add another point: we wouldn't propose such thing if we didn't strongly believed that the benefits are higher than the disadvantages: the ratification of all the treaties would put us in Level 4, just a step behind the General Director and making us potential holders of that office in the future. Not to mention the possibilities for our security services to co-operate and ensure an even higher degree of security in our country. That being said, we respect everybody's opinions and we are prepared to welcome the defeat of this treaty which we will continue to support, I'll just limit to ask every oppositor to please reconsider your position. |

Message | NDZP Assistant Floor Leader Nicklaus "Kenny" Grunwald, brother of NDZP shadow government minister Hulda "Babs" Grunwald: I do apologize for the suggestion that Foreign Minister Friedberg had not read the treaty. That was clearly unwarranted. |
