Bill: Legislative Process Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Mordusian Unionist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 5325

Description[?]:

We propose a constitutional amendment to increase the flow of legislation in the House of Commons. We feel the Commons has become moribund. The current limit on legislative proposals was pushed forward by the Progressive Conservative Government (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=689637) and likely had the unintended effect of freezing debate in the Commons.

MessageMr Speaker,

The MUP would be willing to go further with this legislative proposal but awaits feedback from the government as this will require support from both parties to pass.

MessageMr Speaker,

You have to laugh, 'the unintended effect of freezing debate'. The Progressive Conservative Party introduced the legislation in order to stymie left wing and republican voices. This failed, but now the ideological successors of the PCP are feeling the impact they are crying for it to be removed.

I do agree with former Prime Minister Iain Barnes when he said that the PCP bill was a 'shameful attack on democracy', so we will vote in favour of this legislation increase the thresholds.

Amanda Jackson-Thomas MP
Prime Minister
