Description[?]:

.LAW ON THE NOBILITY OF THE KINGDOM OF HULSTRIA

1.) The old nobility continues to be recognized. The King reserves the sole right to grant new noble distinctions through Letters Patent countersigned by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

2.) Nobility shall appertain to all holders of titles and those families recognized as noble without a title. It shall descend to all descendants in the male line, born of marriage.

3.) The following titles of nobility are recognized:

a.) Duke (Herzog), styled Highness
b.) Prince (Fürst), styled Serene Highness
c.) Prince (Prinz), styled Serene Highness
d.) Count (Graf)
e.) Baron (Freiherr)
f.) Knight (Ritter)

4.) Titles of nobility up to Prinz shall be, unless specified otherwise in the Letters Patent, hereditary to all descendants in the male line, born of marriage. The title of Duke or Prince (a.) and b.)) shall normally be inherited by male primogeniture, other descendants holding the title of Prinz (c.)).

5.) Adoption shall not lead to the transfer of noble status or noble distinctions without the permission of the King. Nobles adopted by non-nobles shall lose their status.

6.) The wife takes the status, rank and title of her husband. She retains it until the marriage is dissolved, or until she marries anew as a widow. Noblewomen who marry commoners shall lose their nobility.

7.) Knights Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Golden Spur, of the Royal Order of the Lion, and of the Royal Order of National Merit shall receive the personal title of Knight automatically, with hereditary nobility. The King may specify that other decorations, as well as military or other ranks or offices, automatically confer a noble distinction.

8.) Anybody sentenced to unconditional imprisonment of one year or more, and for crimes classified as dishonorable under the law, shall forfeit his or her noble status. This shall not extend to the wife, nor to already born or conceived children. A criminal court with the permission of the King, or the King himself, may also impose this sanction separately at their discretion.

9.) The following acts shall be criminal offences:

a.) To use a noble distinction or coat of arms without the legal right to do so, punishable by imprisonment of no more than five years, or a fine, or both;
b.) To use a noble distinction or coat of arms without the legal right to do so, for the purpose of committing fraud, entering an order of chivalry restricted to nobles, or entering marriage, punishable by imprisonment of no more than ten years, or a fine, or both.

10.) There shall be a College of Arms which regulates and supervises the use of noble distinctions, grants coats of arms to nobles, and makes recommendations on the development of the Law of the Nobility and potential changes of its provisions.

11.) There shall be a Council of Nobility which advises the King on the granting of noble distinctions.
