Description[?]:
During a press conference this morning, Premier Gösta Rehn announced that he was happy and content with the results of the election the month prior, but that he believes that he has done his duty to the utmost of his abilities and that his age of 74 should be seen as a good example for politicians and statesmen to retire. Ragnar Westergren resigned at age 60 while Alfred Trollman passed away in office at the age of 89. It has been decided that Erik Sundin, the current Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and General-Director of the State Security Bureau, is to succeed General Rehn as the Premier of the Kingdom of Davostag. This would mean that Sundin is the first premier to have not served in any of the official branches of the Armed Forces but instead served as an intelligence officer in the SSB, holding the rank of colonel. Upon taking office, it is decided that the incumbent Minister of Defence Per Seiger, who is to assume the ministry of internal affairs on the 1 February, will be appointed Sundin's successor as General-Director of the SSB. |
