CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF BADARA The Republic of Badara will be a democratic state based on citizenship. The goal of this Republic is to promote a new branch of Ba’athism, Reformist Ba’athism, that promotes Badaran unity and rebirth, and abandons the fool’s errand that is any attempt to form a multinational union of Majatran Republics. The Republic of Badara, officially the Ba’athist People’s Republic of Badara, will seek to explore a new identity for the Badaran people: a more distinct and unique national identity free from historical cultural norms and religious ideologies imported from afar. Badara must be Badaran, and it’s Republic must serve the Badaran people first and foremost. In this spirit, the Republic of Badara will adopt a system of civil laicite. Public servants - teachers, soldiers, politicians, etc. - will not be able to wear any religious symbols or garments, promote or identify with any religion, nor discuss religion when serving in official capacities except for in legal contexts; ex. a member of the Council may discuss religion as it relates to its relationship to the law, such as taxation of its institutions, but may not quote scripture or cite religion as motivation for writing or supporting a law. The Republic will promote growth of industry and the economy in Badara, and will guarantee that the rights of labour will be respected: the hard work of the average man who toils without recognition has always been what makes any nation prosper. The Republic will guarantee full civil liberties to women and minorities: there will be a quota established at 50% of seats in the Council required to go to women, and a proportional percentage quota will be assigned to each ethnic minorities. Candidates may fulfill both roles at once and count to both quotas simultaneously.
