Message | Labor Party Leadership Statement It is true that we have rejected tax cuts and are now proposing an increase in aid spending to foreign countries, but we must warn in advance that this spending will not be large. Aid to countries in need should not be a matter of money and, like healthcare or education, it should be a matter of principles. We therefore call on the parties in parliament to support our proposal. |
Date | 08:59:19, November 11, 2023 CET | From | Liberals and Socialists (LP-SDP) | To | Debating the Government policy towards giving aid to foreign countries |
Message | It is incomprehensible to the LP-SDP that the tax on the basic food of our country was not supported by, among others, the opposition Labor Party, the two parties of the government coalition, the People's Party and Stanton House. In the meantime, the Labor Party is submitting a bill that wants to help other countries. The Labor Party is an important ally for us, but Beluzia comes first for us. The question is, which country's interests does the Labor Party represent in our country's parliament? In our faction, we have been debating for several hours whether to vote for the proposal or reject it, the leader of our parliamentary faction initiated a vote as party discipline is important to our party. The proposal was accepted with 35 "yes", 18 "no" and 2 "abstain", so we support the proposal. Christopher Montgomery Leader of the parliamentary faction of the liberal wing, MP of the LP-SDP |

Message | Mr Speaker, Whilst of course it is our interest to give aid to foreign nations, particularly those most in need, we believe our current level of aid is sufficient, should our economic situation significantly improve we would suggest they submit this proposal again however, we cannot support it at this current time . Wilfred Moore, 1st Deputy PM |
