| "We are now heading into the elections of 5408, it might perhaps be the first truly multiparty elections held in Davostag since 5365. That year the parties that represented all of our country came together as one in a national unity government, despite the fact that were no real need for such a government to be formed. The then premier, Alfred Trollman, had formed the government because for the first time National Gathering did not hold a supermajority, instead the voters were split into three options, he saw that there was a need for national cooperation despite all ideological differences hence why his national unity government was formed. The Liberal Democrats and the now-gone Green Socialist Party accepted and their government continued until the elections of 5372, when the voters once again united behind National Gathering. Now we stand in a period for our country and democracy where the threat of terrorism and war is at an all time high. Hence, National Gathering would like to formulate a specific few, but extensive, policies that the government after the coming elections pursue; but that National Gathering also wish to form a new national unity government, to ensure continued cooperation between all parties and all parts of the Davostagian voters, to make it clear that we can prevail only together against the domestic troubles. And even if National Gathering wins a supermajority, we would still like to form a national unity government with the Liberal Democrats and the Left Alternative, no matter how many or few seats any get, and we hope that should any of these parties win big they do the same, so that we all can work as one, as a single nation for the security and democratic prosperity of Davostag. Thank you." – Erik Sundin, Chairman of National Gathering and Premier of the Kingdom of Davostag National Gathering promotes FIVE policies to be pursued and implemented after the 5408 elections, these policies are: – BUILDING A SECURE AND PROSPEROUS COMMUNITY BY EFFECTIVELY DEALING WITH DOMESTIC MILITANT THREATS – REDUCING DAVOSTAGIAN DEPENDENCY ON FOREIGN ACTORS, INCLUDING THOSE OF OUR NEW ALLIES IN CSCO – PUSHES THE PRIVATE SECTOR FOR BETTER INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, BY BECOMING AN EXPORTER INSTEAD OF AN IMPORTER – TAKING THE NECESSARY STEPS FOR BETTER DEMOCRATIZATION THAT IS FITTING TO DAVOSTAGIAN VALUES AND CULTURE AND BY OUR OWN CONDITIONS NOT THOSE OF FOREIGN ACTORS – ENSURING THE STATE TAKES AN ACTIVE ROLE IN REARMING AND RESTARTING THE DAVOSTAGIAN DEFENSE INDUSTRY TO CURB INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL THREATS TO DAVOSTAG SOCIETY Signed, Erik Sundin Chairman of National Gathering Premier of the Kingdom of Davostag |
