Bill: An intellectual past-time
Details
Submitted by[?]: MLC Old Endralonian Resistance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2071
Description[?]:
Ok Basically I'm just wondering if I have any support here , this bill will encourage our youth to play mentally stimulating sports such as chess (all 3 major variations) Go and any other similar competitive challenge , whereas playing athletic sports at a competitive level can often lead to agression these sports when practiced instead lead to a greater appreciation of your opponent , they are somewhat akin to a hearty conversation , I think this would benefit our population greatly. |

Message | Not in its home country it's not. It's played by "Public" (=private) schools and is even named after the one where it was invented. But since when was communism ever proletarian either?? :D |
Date | 21:54:37, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Communist Party of Endralon | To | Debating the An intellectual past-time |
Message | What the hell is "Socialist Football" anyway, and how is it different from, uh... Capitalist Football...? |
Date | 22:24:26, June 23, 2005 CET | From | Imperial Conservative Party | To | Debating the An intellectual past-time |
Message | Capitalist football is good for you and fun to watch, while socialist football happens at night without floodlights and all the players are old men and drunk. Great national sport! |

Message | Communists are both workers , and intellectual workers the two words are not mutually exclusive , sport popularity is random football may be popular today it doesnt make it proletarian . The only thing which could determine this is the cost required to play , for example many people cannot afford to play equestrian sports , I'd point out that the sports Ive detailed are the cheapest of all as they can be played without anything at all (dont even need a board) . Also Communism has always aimed for an educated proletariat , the more intelligent the workforce the better as the better they'll be able to support democracy and communism without being influenced by polemic and faulty logic. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
