Details

Submitted by[?]: Lista Progressista Federale Istalo-Qanza

Status[?]: debate

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Description[?]:

OOC: The Moderation ask me to place a copy of http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=684336 , on the debate section

I paste the text of the CP Update we voted in 5230 (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=682592):

As explained in the debate here: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=681071 and after reading what players said, I would like to update the Cultural Protocols of Istalia.

These are the current CP of Istalia: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=658482 (5117)

According to the art. 5, Section 7 of the Game Rules (http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8088&p=145763#p145764) the changements in the ethnic, religious and linguistic composition proposed in these new cultural protocols are supported by the roleplay conducted in Istalia in the last in-game century. In the debate bill I pasted all the links to the roleplay material about this roleplay but I'll paste again them in the comments under this bill.

About the idea to introduce a mixed ethnicity (christian arabs) I though about it for some days but than I considered the art. 7, Section 7: according to which "Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions". I don't know what kind of RL ethnicity we could pick for this "mixed" group. Then I also considered the development of the roleplay conducted and I don't think that somebody would have the interest to be placed in a mixed group: once he speak istalian and maybe is a aurorian faithful and follows all italian traditions, married with an istalian, living within istalians... this person would say that he is istalian.

So, said that, these are the new CP of Istalia that I'm proposing (if there are errors in the percentage let me know):

Languages of Istalia
In recent history regional languages, for centuries considered dialects of Istalian, have been rediscovered and their use increased and in informal situation and at home people use it and thus now istalia is characterized by a high level of diglossia. The vast majority of citizens/residents, however, are fully fluent in Istalian which is the official language of the country used in all the public places and communications, in the media and in the education system. Although Istalian is also called Fidelian sometime, true Fidelian spoken in Fidelia presents some little grammatica differences but most important a local pronunciation that is different from standard Istalian.
Majatran also is an important recognized language spoken by a little part of the population in informal situation and at home. The below show percentage of the official languages and specify also the percentage of language spoken at home:

MessageCorrect me if I am wrong, but the figures above are the same as in the 5230 CP.

Are we not thinking it would have changed since?
