| Forget the irrational religious rantings on this... The fact of the matter is that the actual medical procedure for partial-birth or late-term abortions (unless for emergencies) is exceptionally unethical. One of the fundamental principals of having such a free society is that we can trust professionals and institutions... once we allow the stain of unethical practices we open the door to the same types of institutional or organizational deceit and disdain for the people that plagues capitalist nations who have allowed pharmaceutical corporations to corrupt the medical industry. Lets keep our focus and provide the people every opportunity to believe in the system. |

Current: Abortions are only allowed in medical emergencies.

| Message | Unethical practices? Partial births? Is the thing that comes out of the uterus after an abortion a partial baby? These are my views on the issue: Families should be in control of their own bodies, their own sex lives, their own children. In order for families to properly plan themselves, and in order to prevent women from just becoming compulsory breeders, abortion is necessary. Now, I know that late-term abortions are extremely rare. But the restriction of abortion sets a dangerous precedent: that of the government interfering in families' lives to the point of telling them what the result of their sexual act should be. |

| Message | Well, actually medical professionals agree that at the later stages of pregnacy a fetus may be fully functional thus the procedure must be done while the head of the fetus remains inside the mother (the partial-birth def. you are asking about) in case they may take a breath and be "born". To kill while the head remains inside(while consciously keeping the head inside) is an unethical yet is the standard procedure for such. |
