Message | Between this, and the reduction for public servants' salaries, we're wondering what hidden favours is the right-wing giving to their powerful donors. Public funds enshrine accountability for party and politicians finance, and they shouldn't be eliminated in favor of private funds coming from who-knows-who. Louis Kreisler-Schumacher, DSDP Leader |

Message | We agree with Mr. Louis Kreisler-Schumacher on some points. However, we kindly remind him that this proposal is coming from a party situated between the DSDP and LDU, so it is not truly right-wing. We are glad that the coalition government parties are standing together against this law, which would enable all kinds of financial lobby groups to run our country. As the party that strongly opposes corruption, we loudly say NO to this proposal. Tobias Friedman VDD Leader |

Message | First of all, we would like to make it clear that there is no donor who has persuaded us to do this. We are the only party that has not been corrupted by special interests. Now to the actual purpose of the law. We no longer want citizens to have to use their tax money to support parties that they don't even vote for. Don't you know what advantages this law could bring? Without public financing, candidates must rely on their ability to raise funds, which could encourage a more competitive political landscape. In addition, this law will lead to less bureaucracy. Administering public funds for campaigns involves significant bureaucratic processes and oversight. Eliminating public financing simplifies the system and reduces administrative costs and complexities. In our opinion, it will also revive political competition. Private financing allows for a broader expression of support and ideas, as individuals and organizations can choose to fund candidates that represent their interests and values. This aligns with the principles of free speech and political expression. We don’t want the state to decide, who will get funds and who will not. Joschka Baum PIRATEN Leader |
