Bill: Likatonia; Moving Forward, with Higher Standards
Details
Submitted by[?]: Likaton Coalition of the Willing
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2251
Description[?]:
This Bill is co-sponsored, by Grand Master Archibald Star, Minister for Health and Social Services, and by Mr. Vandemaar, Minister for Education and Culture. Following a comprehensive review of the social make-up of Likatonia, and after viewing the results of a comprehensive private survey done on behalf of the Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star, it is clear tha Likatonia, whilst making progress in many areas, has started upon a slippery and ill-disciplined slope in others. With that weighing heavily on our conscience, we feel that this Bill is the way to a Better, and Happier Likatonia. G.M. Archibald Star, Mr. Vandemaar |

Message | To: All Parties From: The Office of The Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI, Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star I am sure that all of you will be happy to support such a righteous and proper Bill. Many of the points raised are, I'm sure, areas in which you yourselves had concerns, and have considered bringing to the fore. We place this Bill in front of the Convocation for debate, to appraise whether you feel we have gone far enough, or perhaps there are areas we could have clamped down further, in order to increase health and prosperity, and above all happiness for all our citizens. We will ensure that, where possible and appropriate, medical treatment is made available for those who are struggling with the afflictions listed in Articles 3 and 12, and to those for whom a defect in their psychological makeup leads them to the transgressions listed in Articles 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11. I would like to thank the Ministers and their teams responsible for drafting such a tolerant and fair-minded Bill. With Warmest Thanks, The Very Righteous Stephen D'Lekk, on behalf of Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI |

Message | To: The Office of The Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI, Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star From: AM Radical Libertarian Party We share your concern with the moral rectitude of our citizens, and understand your desire to prevent them from undertaking unrightous actions. As expressed in our previous debate, however, we feel that we musu limit this prevention to education and persuasion. If we, in our rightousness, limit their choices in making moral stands, we prevent their spiritual growth. It is the duty of those who have attained a higher level to lift their fellows up to that level. You and I have reached our level of spiritual development under the current laws; and if we restrict the development of those not yet at our level we are doing them a grave disservice. Without the ability to make a choice, and occasionaly make a wrong choice and learn from the results, weo would be raising a generation of spiritual children, unable to reach the highest level of salvation for which they have the potential. Therefore, we must regretfully oppose this nobly intentioned bill. |

Message | To: AM Radical Libertarian Party From: The Office of The Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI, Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star We appreciate your views on this matter, and, as always, welcome the support that is offered. In this instance, we would be grateful to hear whether the AMRLP are happy to see the moral decline of our great nation continue, or whether there are any proposals in this, or indeed any, bill, that would not be seen as limiting choice? Surely the line must be drawn somewhere; Surely some choices are not permissable in any society? We are not intransigent; if we can negotiate on some of the finer points then by all means make recommendation. With respect, The Very Righteous Stephen D'Lekk, on behalf of Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI |

Message | To: AM Radical Libertarian Party From: The Office of The Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI, Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star As always, what AMR! lack in coherency, they make up for in saliency. We will endeavour to take the points you have raised on board, should they prove relevant at some point. Message | To: The Office of The Supreme Grand Lord Oreus Mallok VI, Righteous Supreme Order of the Holy Star From: AM Radical Libertarian Party I agree, lines must be drawn someplace. Our feeling is that these lines must be drawn in a place which allows consenting adults to explore the possibilities leading them to choosing salvation by their own free will. For example, We totally agree with article 11, as that will protect children while allowing adults to freedom to choose the rightous path. Article 5 is another which protects the innocence of our children and We would support it. Articles 6,8,9, and 10 we could support in a milder form, but we feel that they go too far. For example, we see no harm in allowing our children to see a couple holding hands or enjoying a kiss, but public fornication is another matter. We believe that the schools should have the option of teaching sexual education, so that parents may choose what they think is best for their child. As always, we respect your attempts to elevate the moral standards of our nation, but feel that there is no ture honor in right actions, if not done for the right reasons. |
