Message | But what if they are too poor. And no, it is not thier fault that they are poor. We need to have some kind of pension system to provide for those who are unable to save for themselves. |

Message | One has to ask why they are too poor to save up for themselves. Is it because they chose to squander their money instead of being pragmatic? Did they sign themselves into a binding contract without taking the future into account? Are they unwilling to work, which begs the question: do they deserve any of the fruits of society's labour? Is there any scenario you can come up with that does not involve the person in question being stupid or lazy? It is hardly reasonable to state that there could be anyone, anywhere in Baltusia that is working and too poor to cover their basic needs, what with the free government handouts and all (i.e. rent and utility subsidies, child benefits, some welfare, a reasonable minimum wage with free universal health and education), so it seems reasonable that no one has both a reasonable level of cognition and motivation and is too poor to save for the future. |

Message | Ok, suppose someone was tricked into signing a contract, and was swindled out of his retirement fund. Should he be left to starve? |

Message | Besides, this bill won't stop people from saving for themselves. It will just gauruntee that a minimum amount is availiable, should, for instance, a person's retirement fund crash in the market. |

Message | "Ok, suppose someone was tricked into signing a contract, and was swindled out of his retirement fund. Should he be left to starve?" Both acts are illegal, the first voiding any contract signed and the latter resulting in not only a large fine but a lengthy jail term. "It will just gauruntee that a minimum amount is availiable, should, for instance, a person's retirement fund crash in the market." People should take a less risky option is they feel this is a threat. Again, you have failed to provide a reasonable scenario under which a person cannot, using basic cognition and motivation, save for their own retirement. |

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
