Description[?]:

Thought I would bring this back up. 100 seats may make the maths easier but it is unrealistic and undemocratic.

MessageJust some statistics to consider...100 seats in the Senate means (approximately) 1 Senator for every 380,000 citizens. 400 seats in the Senate would mean 1 Senator for every 100,000 citizens.

MessageGive Dorvik a better system of representation, and then we will vote for this. We don't believe (at this moment) that we can raise the number of seats without reforming our current election system. Even without reform, we believe that 400 may be too high of a number. Seeing that international trends follow 1 representitive for every 100,000 citizens, the number should probably be around 381 or so. However, for now, it is too early to push this legislation. For the record, we are for raising the number of seats in the legislature, but the appropriate reforms in the election system need to change first. We will abstain.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.
