A raft of measures, designed to tidy up Educational practices: 1) Charter schools are publicly funded, and so should not make a profit. Message | 1) Maybe, but we'd have to see. 2) No. It is the right of a person if they wish to go to a religious school. 3) You have got to be kidding me. Our schools would be destroyed. |
Date | 20:40:20, July 17, 2006 CET | From | Kirlawan Popular Front | To | Debating the Education Bill |
Message | 1) I can't see your problem with this 2) You mean 'it is the right of a person to be sent to a religious school by their parents, regardless of their own wishes'? 3) Why? If a child acts up, tell the parents and they should deal with it. |
Date | 03:48:32, July 18, 2006 CET | From | Democratic Party of Kirlawa | To | Debating the Education Bill |
Message | 1) don't really have a problem with this article but the rest of the bill is too idiotic and illogical to vote yes 2) these are children isn't it the job of the parent to make decisions for the student 3)you are against detention and expulsion? you are pretty much taking all power away from the teacher and the school you spend too much time looking at opinion polls and not enough time using your own common sense |

Message | By the way, we were under the misguided impression that democracy was about giving the people what they wanted. If they want less discipline in schools, if they are happy not to legislate on flag burning, if they want a socially liberal society - then someone should be arguing for what they want. If the lose the debate (as I have hear, quite clearly), fine. We'll see what happens - and in March you will be looking at the most important poll of them all. |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
