MessageI was looking through the laws and previous legislation and I didn't come across any law regarding this issue. Since 16 is the age of becoming a legal adult, how about the age of at least 16 in order to vote?

MessageI believe the way the system operates at present is that all people within the Country are eligible to vote when they become an adult.
This is an interesting, and important point. The problem is is that it requires proposals in order for it to effect the way the system works. Perhaps you should put it up in the forums?

MessageYeah, I noticed that was no reference to it in regards to the current law. And without the option of proposals, this would be a bill in name only. I'll check out the forums and maybe post this question in there.

MessageAfter checking the forums, I found that there will be at some future time proposals for this issue. Unfortunately none exisits now. Since adults of legal age can vote, raising the legal age to 18 from 16 is one option. This will insure some sort of formality to the present (legal adult age) versus (voting age) laws.

MessageDon't try raising the adult age again. We are happy with giving the vote to all adults and would only support this bill if it does that.

MessageYeah, trying to raise the adult age is a pretty dead issue. So this will only formalize the voting age to 16. Any other issues?

MessageJust add a clause making it neccessary to change this law to match any change in adult age.

MessageIt's not just adults that matter in a country. Young people deserve having a say. Votes at 16, not the 'adult age'.

MessageBut 16 is the adult age!

MessageI agree, but the current law is vague in regards to voting age. It just states that the legal adult age is the age that a person can vote. In the future there may be proposals to add for this issue.

MessageUBs, thats not the point. If the adult age was raised, I would not want the voting age raised either.

MessageYou've seen the opposition to the last two people who tried to increase it. It's not going up if the current situation remains.

MessageUSM, once proposals become available then the law can be changed and then perhaps the voting age can be different than the legal adult age.
