Bill: Higher Education Regulation

Details

Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2074

Description[?]:

As current laws stand, the Government pays for full tuition of students. As this is the case, we propose that only Public Universities be operated as the payment of Government funds would be given directly to the Private sector.
These Universities must provide the highest quality of education for its students, and will be continually checked by a Government education commission to guarentee that these high standards are being met.
Universities will be required to provide multiple courses in differing subject matters, however they will be able to specialise in areas that they decide they can provide the best education in (e.g. Humanities, Sciences, etc).
All 1st year Undergraduates must be guarenteed University provided accomodation, and should following year students request University accomodation or require assistance in finding their own private housing, the University must do all it can in order to help these students.
