Bill: Non-Confidence Motion Act of 2073
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2074
Description[?]:
In light of the trend and growing demand and stress on the election system, SCP, hereby propopses: if any sitting party feels a lack of confidence in the way the government os operating, they can file a motion of non-confidence in the form of a bill. A motion of non-confidence is initiated when one party feels that the government is being ruled by a party that isn't fulfilling their duties properly or that they feel the government has become too dysfunctional to serve the public. The core conceot behind the Motion of Non-confidence is to reduce the number of calls for an early election. If there is motion cast, it has receive more yes than no votes. If it receives a favourable reaction, then an early election can be put to vote. If not, it is laid to rest. |

Message | Aren't the ramifications of this bill already accomplished through an ordinary call for an early election? It seems to me that the only way to reduce the number of calls for early elections is for the political parties to simply show a little restraint and quit filing them. |

Message | No. If we don't want an early election to happen then we'll just vote no. Its as simple as that. |

Message | What's wrong with a little good spirit? What? Is it suddenly a bad thing for me to try and pass a bill that isn't serious? I'm doing this because I wanted to try something new. Besides, it would make it more interesting. And less arbitrary. |

Message | Actually, I've always enjoyed early elections, especially on a "good spirit" kind of thing. They're fun. We should approach elections as a celebration, not a thing to be avoided. |

Message | I like early elections too, and having a whole other bill seems a bit pointless -If we want them to be taken more serously maybe we should just name all early election bills votes of non-confidence - that would make people think twice about whether their motives for calling them were because of a genuine problem with the government or just selfish, but without making the system too complicated. |

Message | That is the point. Just to make all parties think twice. Even this would make me think twice, and I'm all in favour of early elections. |

Message | A bill like this could lead to a cat&dog game. Parties will take disadvantage of this to intimidate their opponents. |
