Message | No need to think the police won't have any defence: think about electrical stun guns, rubber bullets that don't kill, tear gas,... |
Date | 22:25:25, June 28, 2005 CET | From | Theofascist Party | To | Debating the Safe Police Act |
Message | But: "39.60% Police officers carry military-grade equipment." A negligible difference. About 40% wants the police to carry lesser weapons; about 40% wants the police to carry bigger weapons. There's no pleasing this lot. I say we take the middle road and stick with the current law that police officers carry standard firearms. |

Message | I still think we should consider non-lethal weapons... |

Message | What happens when we have a criminal? Use tazers (which are notoriously ineffective; a guy in Los Angeles got riddled with 129 of them, and he died not from the tazers but from the holes) and pray that they just go "Okay, you shot me. Since this is like a game for five-year-olds, I give up, even though I'm perfectly fine."?? Get real. |
Date | 11:45:43, June 29, 2005 CET | From | Conservative Party | To | Debating the Safe Police Act |
Message | God, no to this proposal and NO to the nanny state. |
Date | 13:58:49, June 29, 2005 CET | From | Free Liberal Party of Kirlawa | To | Debating the Safe Police Act |
Message | I used to work in the law enforcement equipment business. Having seen the ineffectiveness of stun guns first hand, there is *no way* I could ever support this. Especially since it does nothing to keep criminals from carrying lethal weaponry. |

Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity. |
Random quote: First and second class seats on public transport shall be BANNED! We are all FIRST CLASS people, regardless of whether we are rich or poor and can afford or not afford to pay for a more expensive seat. From now on, all seats on trains, buses, trams, planes and so on shall be the SAME. We will all travel in the SAME way, TOGETHER. ~ Friedrich Pfeiffer General Secretary of the Dorvish Communist Party |
