Bill: Tobacco Reform Bill

Details

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2286

Description[?]:

We propose the following reforms. That smoking is once more allowed outside, and in pubs. It seems bizarre that an individual is allowed to smoke at home in front of their children, but it is illegal for them to smoke outside their back door, or in a pub amongst other adults who have chosen to be there. Why on earth would this be the case?

Secondly, we feel the current policy with regards to the selling of tobacco does not fit our lax laws towards other drugs. Why does tobacco need additional regulations, yet "there are no laws regulating what citizens can put into their bodies"? If adults have the ability to put any kind of substance into themselves, there is no need for additional regulations on tobacco, a drug that does not harm the working capacities of a worker, and provides a relief from stress and other anxieties.
