Bill: Enviromental Plan

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hobrazian Peoples Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2287

Description[?]:

When listening to ecological experts there are differences in their stance on the enviromental future. Some say that we need to act now and quick, others say that we have to act, but use our money the right way.
Global warming is said to cost 2000 death a year considering the death from heat etc. But it will also mean that 20000 fewer will die from the cold weather. The list continues, and the HPP would like us to discuss our stance on the enviroment and to agree on a future enviromental plan for Hobrazia.

MessageWhy? We cannot let Hobrazia be even more pollution! If anything, we should actually enforce pollution guidelines.

MessageWe feel the HPP's statistics are flawed. Global warming, currently, may be directly linked to 2000 deaths a year, however further warming will lead to problems with native crops, further flooding of outlying areas, the possible expansion of the desert, none of which would be a good thing.
Leaving industrial pollution with no regulations will also increase the numbers of asthma sufferers increasing the already stretched health services resources and further endangering the population. We would not like to have to attach smog warnings to the end of weather forecasts, nor would we like to include the damage done to crops and buildings alike through the increase in acid rain.
This bill would be bad for health, bad for the environment, and bad for Hobrazia.

MessageI generally don't care much about the lefty environmentalist 'the-end-is-near' complain about world's environmental alleged concerns. However, this is quite excessive.

MessageI agree with the CSP - we should promote and enforce environmental standards for the good of all people. We cannot just trust companies geared to profit to make decisions. The Hobrazian Peoples Party claims to be a Nationalist/Socialist party it should stand up for the people then and revoke its legislation.

MessageThis is not a decision put in the hands of the companies. This is a general discussion about which enviromental issues to focus on. We believe that this is not one of these, and that money could be better spent.

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with.
