Message | Higher education, or Universtity education, must have choice as its core element. Whilst publicly operated higher eductional establishments exist they can only offer a limited number of subjects. Through the use of Private institutions the number of courses can be increased and so provide a much larger choice of degrees and other educational matters to their students. It makes sense to keep them, especially as they are regulated to maintain quality and the students to these establishments are supported monetarily by the Government. |

Message | Wouldnt it be possible for there to be the same level of choice under state-universities? |

Message | Not unless you allow each university complete independence to operate themselves. WIth the current system, though quality is monitored, the universities are free to offer a range of choices, with state operated institutions able to concentrate on core subjects. If those same private institutions are brought under the public sphere then they would, and should, be expected to teach those courses that are designated as core, or socially important, as they would be reliant upon tax-payers money and, as such, should expect that their finances be much more thoroughly scrutinised. |

Message | The PPA is right - choice can be built into the public system but it can never be built into the private system. What choice does a poor person have if they can't avoid private education? None. We can't let the public system become the safety net or the dominion of a privelidged few. |

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that. |
