Pharmaceutical drug companies should not be able to abuse their monopoly powers by pricing life-saving drugs beyond the reach of our poorest citizens. Our government has the right to cap their prices at a reasonable level, especially considering how money we give these companies in research subsidies. |

Message | Under this Bill, the research and development of prescription drugs will *continue* to be subsidised by the government, as before. The difference is that the prices the drug companies are allowed to charge will be regulated in order to ensure the sick are not extorted by big companies exploiting their monopoly powers. |
