Bill: Cabinet Modification Resolution of 2073
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2074
Description[?]:
In light of the fact that we now have so many parties, it would only be fair to allow all parties to form cabinets. It doesn't mean that any proposed cabinet will work. It just gives all parties a chance to put in their own voice. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The constitutional right and responsibility to propose a cabinet to the legislature.
Old value:: Only the largest party can propose a cabinet.
Current: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.
Proposed: Each party can propose a cabinet coalition.

Message | I think it is a good, fair idea, provided there was not a deluge of cabinets proposed after elections - maybe we could say that if that proposed by the major party was voted down then it is everybody else's turn? |

Message | We would support this idea. We have, in fact, even tried to propose it ourselves before. |

Message | This would lead to muddle after elections, I think only largest parties have the right to propose a cabinet. |

Message | also, it doesn't sound very logical to me but I could be wrong? |
Date | 02:50:02, June 30, 2005 CET | From | SDP | To | Debating the Cabinet Modification Resolution of 2073 |
Message | We don't like this, we need a stable government, constent talk over cabinet changes will not allow the person in the position to concentrate on their work. |
Date | 08:47:08, June 30, 2005 CET | From | People's Party | To | Debating the Cabinet Modification Resolution of 2073 |
Message | We think this is rather undemocratic...let the largest parties choose the cabinet. |
Date | 11:06:29, June 30, 2005 CET | From | Liberal Party for Equality | To | Debating the Cabinet Modification Resolution of 2073 |
Message | I know all too well what it is like to be a smaller party and to have a good idea of what cabinet everybody could agree on, the only problem is that if everybody is putting forward a different cabinet, none will pass. That is why I suggested what I did. However, I will vote yes to this, then go and make the ammendment in a separate bill. |
