Bill: Strike Freedom Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Telamon Royalist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2292
Description[?]:
At the current time, there is a sector of our nation which lacks the same rights granted to all other adult Telamonians. People employed in what the court system determines to be 'vital sectors' of our nation's economy are denied the right to strike that is given to any and all other unionized industries. We feel this is wrong. Certainly, it is necessary to maintain operation of these vital industries, lest the nation be endangered by, say, an unoccupied nuclear power plant, or an abandoned air traffic control tower, or an empty police station. However, employees in those sectors should also have the right to appeal for redress should their working conditions become substandard; indeed, one might well make the arguement that no other sector of our economy deserves those rights more. Therefore, we propose a compromise. |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
