Bill: Call for early elections, June 2292
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Workers Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: February 2293
Description[?]:
We, the Green Workers Party, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. We believe that the barely-masked oligarchy of corruption and nepotism practised by the Popular Party has undermined its very legitimacy, and call upon the Assembly to dissolve Parliament and let the people decide on their future. Viva la Lusitania! |

Message | In addition, we call upon all liberal and left-leaning parties to form a front against the reactionary and repressive Popular Party, and form a Unity Government after the elections to form a popular and progressive coalition that will benefit all Lusitanians. |
Date | 22:44:03, October 02, 2006 CET | From | Social Liberal Party | To | Debating the Call for early elections, June 2292 |
Message | "The Social Liberal Party will vote against calling for elections at this time. While it is obvious that the current 'modus operandi' of this house does not reflect the democrat representation of the people, largely because of the idle and incapable opposition of the Movimento Social PROGRESSO, and the Coligação de Renovação Democrática, that have both done nothing to stop the damage inflicted upon it by the Popular Party, we ultimately do not feel it is in the interest of our party and our nation to call for an election at this time. When the 2295 election arrives the Social Liberal Party will have by that time shown to all of Lusitania that there is an alternative. There is a better way. Ultimately since our party does not have parliamentary representation we are unable to have any say in any matter. Furthermore, since the opposition is currently still-born, the Popular Party is effectively running the nation unopposed and election cannot be called for unless they were to agree." - Guy Verhofstadt. Leader of the Social Liberal Party. |
