Message | the party will go out on a limb and try to interpret the article. when (in the proposed) it says "but consumed by any one" this is meant to say that the purchase is still regulated to adults only. the success of this bill would be a model after real world france, where purchase is restricted to adults, which is 16, but is allowed to consumed by anyone. this has positve attributes. 1) the education into moderation will occur earlier in life. that way the exposer to the joys of alcohol will not take a person by surprise at the age of adulthood. 2) children are going to drink any way. for one or both of the following reasons. - to rebel against an authority that tells them not to do so. and - children think that by doing something that is reserved for adults that they will become more adultlike. by changing the law it will serve to defeat these misconceptions of children. the psycollogical draw of adulthood will be diminished by attainment of a new responsibility. one that they will learn early and carry with them. the rebels in the populace, will not have any thing to rebel against by drinking because it will be allowed. this will severely reduce the allure for this purpose. they will then treat drinking as another liberty they have and our responsible for. perhaps they wont even bother to drink if no one tells them no. this would also be a positive effect. we should grant this simple liberty to the populace and trust in the people not to abuse it. if it becomes a problem, then it can always be revoked. Side note - some funding into alcohol education in schools health classes would be beneficial to easing the process along. |

Message | I also agree completly with this. If we teach our kids how to drink the proper way, then they will not abuse the substances when they grow older. |
