Message | how is this anti democratic? each prefucture gets an equal amount of say in who they wish to lead them. currently the high population states are at a disivantage with less seats than the small population states. i see no benifit in this. |

Message | Equality between prefectures is unimportant, equality between voters is extremely important. For example, if there are more voters in a certain prefecture then it’s only right for that prefecture to elect more representatives. Otherwise one man’s vote becomes less (or more) important than that of his neighbour. Very little could be more undemocratic than that! |

Message | yes but the current system, the larger states are at unfair disadvantage. maybe this will be a good step to complete equality. also if fail to understand your point. so your saying the one prefecture deserves more rights than the other? that sounds a hell of a lot more undemocratic than this proposal! |

Message | I agree with MEL. If there are more voters in a certian area, the area should have more representatives. To equalize all the regions in representatives would give a minority of people in the smaller provinces influence disproportionate to thier numbers and damaging to the democratic process. Look at the US senate, for example, where the Democrats would have to win about 58% of the vote to retake it because of the disproportionate weight of the smaller states, which tend to be Republican. |
