Bill: Restoration--It is the Will of the People

Details

Submitted by[?]: Restoration Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2299

Description[?]:

The People have spoken, and how.

They want a return to our history.

The Federation needs a change. It needs to restore it's traditional liberties and history. So that we can both be interesting, but with an organic link to our past and a clear bridge to our future.

Therefore, the RP proposes, along with its allies:
Restore the Emperor, who would be elected by each of the five-elector kings, and is likely to be the pretender to the throne of Bandorra.

Recognise the:

House of Arglon
House of Tirkalara
House of Dugathan
House of Hulbark
and of course
the House of Bandorra

The powers of all of these people will, of course, be largely ceremonial, though they do have influence with the individual peoples.

This would require no new federal expenditure.

MessageFrankly, "Emperor Emperor Zhikep III" sounds stupid, if not downright ridiculous.

I also propose each of this new kingdoms be given equal representation in the Consortium - aren't all monarches equal? (at least, that's how I intepret it, with the Bandorran king being first among equals)

MessageWell, we can change Emperor Zhikep to Zhikep pretty easily!

Not sure i get your point about each given equal representation in the consortium?

MessageOpposed. Not just for the name reason. People should be equal, a hereditary head of state means they are not equal.

MessageNo two people are born the same, no two people have the same abilities, therefore people shouldn't be equal, except before the law.

MessageSo you're saying people born in to the family of Zhikep (should he be HoS) deserve to inherit that position because of their family? Absurd.

MessageIn the paraphrased words of Thomas Paine, the idea of a hereditary head of state makes as much sense as a hereditary mathematician.

MessageIntelligence can be inherited, or at least some of the genes that aid with learning, so the child of a mathematician may well have better inherited skills that allow that child to do well at maths.

However as that is irrelevent, RP we now have the popular support to pass this Bill, put it to vote ASAP.

MessageCorrect me if I'm wrong, but isn't 2/3 * 500 = 333 and 228 + 76 (seats of TV and RP respectively) = 304?

MessageFPP, I have made it clear before I'll be willing to back the monarchy, and as a coalition partner of the RP and TV, your overlooking of the Ba'athists is noted by our leadership.
