Message | I like it but that sound's a bit scary...what if someone dies and no living relatives can be located? We just harvest their organs?? |

Message | yes, we do. what's the alternitave? let someone die on the operating table because we couldn't find another liver? five healthy people and one corpse with five organs missing is always preferable to six corpses intact. |

Message | if you want to be buried with lungs that will rot away and a liver for the worms, just say so on a little card in your wallet. |

Message | Actually it's the other way around, there are organ doner cards...not "Hey, I like my body to not be carved open"-cards |

Message | That's true, APL. The people who WANT to be carved open get carved open. And certain religions wouldn't be too happy with being chopped up. |

Message | then practitioners of that religion should say so, and it will not happen to them. that's what the first half of the law is for. |

Message | Erm, just to let ye know, alot of organs will be un-harvestable because the majority of deaths happen too far away from a place where you can preserve the organs. I don't think a 7 hour dead liver will be of much use. I still think it would be better if the person said, "I want to have my organs taken out" instead of assuming that they do. But for now, I will vote yes, so every Tom, Dick, and Harry doesn't become an organ harvester. |

Message | My point is, if someone is murdered they aren't going to be able to say one way or the other. |

Message | once again: that's what the card is for. |
Date | 03:17:37, July 04, 2005 CET | From | Social Calvinist Unionist Party | To | Debating the organ donations |
Message | Do you think that people will walk around carrying a card that says, "If I were to die, please don't harvest my organs," with them everywhere? |
Date | 03:18:04, July 04, 2005 CET | From | Social Calvinist Unionist Party | To | Debating the organ donations |
Message | Meh, but we vote yes for now. We need organ donations... |
