Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2300

Description[?]:

As the new minister of Health and Social Services I present to this senate a reforms act to help Gaduridos cope with the latest issues plaguing our health system and social welfare infrastructure.

There have been studies to show that abortion after the first trimester may damage the mother which can be prevented if the abortion is limited up to the first trimester. People who wish to have abortions know what is in their heart and will have the procedure done very early on. We feel that after 3 months the child has a right to live, abortion one at 7 months for instance is akin to murder.

We ask the senate to allow regulated private health care facilities. If people want to use THEIR money to go to one and get treatment for THEMSELVES, who are we to deny them? The public health service will run as normal, also patients who attend private healthcare will reduce the pressure currently on the national service. This is in no way a move towards full privatisation. We are simply introducing antoher option to people who may want it.

We belive that having a compulsory private pension is a seller's market. The pension companies know every one needs one so they can charge a premium for their service. Introducing a compulsory public pension scheme, where money is taken directly out of their wages at optional levels of % will guarentee people get the basic basic with no risk to their financess. If people want then they can set up additional private pension schemes, which will make the system a buyer's market giving people more freedom over their financial future.

I thank the senate for the time, and will now open the floor for questions (2 days)

Prof. Gerald Daemon
