Message | This bill will be more of a resolution, so that the opinion of the public can be more clearly represented. RESOLUTION: - To prevent the continued unequivical situation caused when parties have no seats in the legislature. - If one party maintains a majority, they must follow the will of the other parties when it comes to an early election regardless of seat numbers. Trigger events: - One party holds more than half the available seats in the legislature. - 2 or more parties have no seats in the legislature. - If the majority consensus of the parties deems it necessary to have an early election. Requirements: - MINIMUM, of one year between elections. - Parties supporting the move to call an early election must have a developed platform. Action(s): - An early election must be called and supported by the governing party. - If the governing party an early election may be called by any seat holding party. |

Message | The FPP disagrees. If a party is lucky to win a majority as it is now (with 4 active parties with seats, and two other active parties...it may seem hard to!) then they deserve that majority! It would be sufficient if we had elections every week. This would prevent the long strands of painful waiting, while still providing an incentive for a party to win a majority. Furthermore, if we trigger an early election all of the time, there might not be any benefits gained by the smaller parties who haven't any seats. They need time to vote on bills to create a platform. Thus, we should wait before triggering an early election. No, one week should be sufficient. |

Message | How will this be enforced though? We already proved that the SDP is not willing to support anything that puts them at a disadvantage... :-| |

Message | well an early election only requires half the votes right, so there is half that could do it anyway. |
