Message | Nationalized pension would provide a basic income for those who have reached retirement age. If they have invested in another plan then they can have more money. This plan would make sure we didn't have seniors living on the street or starving. |

Message | I think this is a good idea because it is a smart and safe way to ensure that everyone has some money to live on when they retire. If it was left up to the individual, they may not consider it a nesessity and wait until they are older, thus loosing out on money they could have saved from an early age. |

Message | Then that is their dumb fault. If you are smart you start saving as soon as you can. |
Date | 00:40:35, July 04, 2005 CET | From | United Liberal Alliance | To | Debating the National Pension Plan |
Message | We think that private pension systems are probably best in the long run, though we concede that there is a problem with people thinking about therir retirement and investing in ti therefore although possibly illiberal we would advocate compulsory private penison schemes to ensure that people do provide for their future |

Message | no, private pensions charge higher fees, and have higher commisions. So they wouldnt work better (thank you industry super fund commercial :) !) |
