Message | yes, we considered this with some difficulty when we implemented the current legislation. our conclusion was that none of the options fitted our beliefs so this was the best compromise. we are against the proposal. we don't believe in a system that only realistically offers higher standards of education to richer kids but we also don't like the situation (in RL 'countries' such as the UK) where kids are pushed into further education in the interests of A) giving a false shine to public statistics and quotas B) bondage of the population towards a life of debt repayment (/financial difficulty) that only benefits big corporations and cynical governments as a de facto 'loyalty scheme' In this way the standards of education suffer. Whilst we are very wary of meritocractic, umbrella ideologies, we do believe that admission to higher levels of education should be judged on ability, IN ADDITION to scaled levels of financial assistance based on income. |

Message | CU believes our universities (and all of our nations's educational institutions) should have high standards. Having a free higher education will only benefit those whose academic achievements earned them an acceptance into a university. We do not believe anyone, including students, should be forced by the government to do anything against their wishes. We believe the law of Jelbania states that anyone over 16 (or is it 18) is not forced to attend school. GMP, we understand your concerns stated above. But they do not apply to this law we propose. We hope you will reconsider your opposition. |
