MessageApparently game mechanics enforce that when the nations passes from republic to monarchy, whoever is president at that precise moment will become king.

Poor Dick Verhofstadt, wanted to retire and return to his private life after his 2nd mandate as president, but has unfortunately been forced do remain as a regent because of a bureaucratic glitch, if you will. Forcing a Republican to be a king is like forcing e vegetarian to eat meat. Verhofstadt will probably end up suing the Particracy game developers for the psychological torture that was imposed on him.

Russ Feingold, Leader of the SLP.
