Message | So you say we should destroy the fabric of civilization by letting our population decline into a group of coke-sniffing hobo's who spend half their day drooling in their basement, and the other half looking for a fix? Marijuana, we have no problem with. That has been proven to be about as safe as tobacco. However, Cocaine and Opium are both HIGHLY dangerous and cause nothing but problems(take this from someone who has lived on the front-lines of the drug war). |

Message | "destroy the fabric of civilization"? you call imposing your invasive, overbearing views on others 'civilized'? if they want to turn into a coke addict, that is their decision. if you want to ban them because they are hazardous to your health, then don't be a hypocrite: ban tobacco and cheez doodles as well. if you want to ban them because they cause people to not think clearly and make bad decisions the don't be a hypocrite: ban alcohol as well. I don't care what they put into their bodies, as long as its not affecting anyone who doesn't want to be affected directly, it's completely thier decision. "destroy the fabric of civilization " bullshit. tell me how a gram of crack on the wall of the drug store next to the cigarettes and whisky will lead us all into chaos and despair. the government is not here to stop people from making bad decisions. the government is here to protect their right to MAKE decisions. |

Message | We are afraid that we must no for this bill. We believe that recreational drugs have value, however they should be regulated. |

Message | i can't believe what i am seeing. are we to take the decision away from people because they might make the wrong one? are we going to hold the hands of our people, and never let them decide anything for themselves? Your next step will be to strap them into their beds and feed them through a straw, because if you didn't, there is the possibility that (gasp!) they might decide for themselves what to do! I trust the people enough to make the right decision. And if they don't make the right decision, I trust them enough to learn from their mistakes. There is no way to take the wrong choices out of the hands of the people without removing the right ones as well. we're here to protect them from others, not from themselves. |

Message | We are all for letting our people take safer drugs, but NO good comes from Coke and Opium. Unlike you, living in your sheltered life, I have walked in the slums where Coke-heads and Opium junkies live. There is nothing but despair, and a primevil hunger for the next fix. Opium and Coke will kill you MUCH faster than Marjiuana, Tobacco, and Alcohol. If we were to re-educate people, so that they can see the alternatives and help society, that will be a better choice. It has been proven that limited alcohol HELPS you. It has been proven that Marijuana helps to clear your mind(as long as it isn't laced with "angel dust"). It has been proven that certain types of tobacco(such as Snus) have little or no harmfull side affects. However, EVERYONE agrees(everyone with knowledge on drugs, that is) that hard drugs such as Opium and Coke cause nothing but problems. For your brain, your heart, your lungs, and your body in general. While the government is supposed to protect the rights of it's citizens to make choices, it is also the duty of the government to protect our citizens and our community from harm. Drugs affect everyone in the community: Be it the dealer, the consumer, the consumers family, the consumers co-workers, or the person who the consumer kills for their next fix. |

Message | i never said drugs were good. I simply never wanted to take the choice away from those it directly affects. I chose not to use drugs. I'm giving others that choice. If they want to do it, then i will say that i have no business making their decisions for them. nooses are dangerous and destroy lives, do you want to ban rope? |
