Message | submitting to regulation appears fine at first glance, but before we commit, could you outline what sort of regulation you have in mind? we bring this up becuase we understand that there is animal sufferring sometimes but it can lead to major advancements in medical science. (we also understand that sometimes it may be totally unecessary to test on animals too) |

Message | Animal welfare regulations, to make sure that the animals are treated humanely. Perhaps also a requirement to investigate other methods first and only use animals as a last resort. We don't want to limit medical research at all, we just to make sure animals aren't made to suffer simply because it's the cheapest option. |

Message | Will the passing of this legislation result in yet another government agency? The Ministry for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? This appears to be a pandora's box for nonsensical animal rights legislation in the future. We are currently uncomitted on this. |

Message | Ther is no reason for another agency. Those already regulation medical research can follow this aspect as well. |

Message | Quite. We assume medical research has to undergo some sort of ethical approval procedure. This would be part of that, and would come under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Sci, Tech and Ag. |

Message | exactly, there would be no new ministry, otherwise we would be opposed to this. as it is, so long as the law gets incorporated into existing bodies of oversight, we have no real problem with this. and the libcom has been helpful in outlining details of its strategy. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
