Bill: Setting The Groundwork For The Future - OOC Discussion On "House Rules"

Details

Submitted by[?]: Ma'avak

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2318

Description[?]:

POLICIES DECIDED ON:

* 6 Month In-Game time scale (24 Hours Real Life) for bills to be left in the debate stage for.

ORIGINAL TEXT:

This might just be me trying to impose my way of playing onto everyone else but the way I've always done this game is to try to establish some kind of "house rules" about civilised playing. These could include:

* Leaving bills in debate for a certain amount of time before putting them to a vote
* Not putting entirely unrelated proposals in the same bill just so you can screw over your opponent (even though I did this loads before the election)
* Trying to work to get bills passed as opposed to just working for ideology (although this is a VERY minor issue)

Any other ideas or are people in favour of just scrapping this plan altogether?

MessageProposal 1.
IC: I will never ever consider a "debate" with the unauthorized oppressors of our fair land

OOC: I dont care either way, if you guys decide on a certain "minimum" time amount, ill abide by it unless im trying to squeeze in a political ideology bill before an election.

Proposal 2: Agreed, and Disagreed. That makes me neutral, but ill hate you for doing it

Proposal 3: IC: I will never work with a Pontesi to "get bills passed". Even further, I do not support or acknowledge any bills that ARE passed by them. There. Done

MessageOOC:
1) In Pontesi we had a 6-month rule of thumb ages ago, but this was frequently violated.
2) New parties are unlikely to abide by this if they arrive and as much as the intent is noble, it'd result in a self-destructive shitstorm enforcing it on the uninitiated. At least with a period of time as per 1, people can make suitable reactions on a similar level and play them as "manifestos" for the election.
3) As for 2. Civil, yet whilst co-operation between some factions will allow for some positive RP between the paramilitary violence, adding realism, the shitstorm enforcement factor would be a pain.

MessageYeah scrap 3 and I think as long as we have some sort of set time frame for 1 AHI is right in that we could work things out for 2. In Keymon it was 24 RL hours... which is essentially the same as 6 in game months, is that a good time frame for people?
