Bill: Medicare Act of 2076
Details
Submitted by[?]: Proletariat Revolution Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2077
Description[?]:
Acknowledging that healthcare is but the most basic necessity of life, it is hereby proposed that the government adopt a policy that ensures full regulation of both private and public healthcare so that baseline standards are met. A two-tiered system is permitted, with a public healthcare system available to all and a private for those who wish, want to and/or can pay for it. The public healthcare system will be regulated in the same heavy-handed manner to ensure that malpractice is not an issue and that those licensed to practice live up to the terms of their license. |
Proposals
Article 1

Old value:: There is a public health care system, but private clinics are allowed.
Current: There is a public health care system, but private clinics are allowed.
Proposed: There is a free public health care system and a small number of private clinics, which are heavily regulated to ensure they treat their patients well and provide good care.

Message | THat's why both will both be subject to the same amout of regulation. Private can be just as good as public. |

Message | I urge Conservatives to reconsider their votes as this legislation was quickly shoved into a vote, and these regulations may force religious clinics into giving abortions/distributing contraceptives. I urge you to vote no as this is disturbing and there was not an adequate amount of time put into debate. |

Message | There was no mention of that. THat's why there are public clinics. |

Message | How about we keep the system private, and simply extend the hope and spirit act, giving grants to charitable hospitals and private foundations to increase access to all? We could combine the quality and efficiency of the private sector , with the funds of govt, thereby increasing both quality and quantity of medical care. |

Message | If you read, I made a clause so that both are regulated in the same manner. I would have preferred that both are regulated. I hate the"heavily" part. |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
