Bill: State religion
Details
Submitted by[?]: Faithful Believers Of Malivia
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2322
Description[?]:
We believe in the need of a state religion, which is fully under control of our government. We have a state religion, we have a culture that is based on religion, so the logical consequence is that all ministers of religions are appointed by our great state. Only recognized religions should have the right to teach our children. Prayers in school should be encouraged, to build as soon as possible a religious identity beside our civilian and culturel identity. |

Date | 09:53:50, November 30, 2006 CET | From | Leviathan Party | To | Debating the State religion |
Message | This is a heinous violation of the most basic freedoms of conscience necessary for a democracy. When we choke out people whose beliefs do not mirror the majority's, by denying them the same rights as those in the majority, we cross the line into tyranny. To allow religious schools, but only those of the state religion, is abominable. To entwine religion with politics ends only in disaster. |

Message | We are in agreement with the LP and so cannot this support this assault on liberty. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
