The government shouldn't have to pay so much for a criminal's incarceration. So the criminal should work. Not only does he get a small wage for this, it reduces government upkeep and the criminal learns new skills for post-release. |

Old value:: Prisoners are interned and do not work in prisons.
Current: Prisoners can do certain jobs in prison, voluntarily, for a small wage.
Proposed: Able-bodied prisoners have to work during the day.
